Before: April 1st, 2006 - 230 lbs.

For the past year and a half, I had been trying to get as big and strong as possible. In the process, I gained quite a bit of fat. I decided it was time diet down and get ripped! I'm writing you to "Thank You" for your excellent products. On January 17, 2006, I visited my doctor for a routine checkup and I had to step on those dreadful scales. I'm only 5'8" tall and the scale read 246lbs!! That was the most depressing moment of my life. Having lost my mom, dad, brother, and sister due to health related problems at relatively young ages, I knew that it was time to make a change, not tomorrow or the next day, but today. So I've been following a low carb diet (veggies and protein only), but according to this i should get a 1 day "cheat" carb day after 7 days to boost up my leptine and t3-t4 hormones so my metabolism stays high.. No matter what claim somebody makes, you cannot "target" body fat. Body fat comes off the entire body like the layers of an onion. A little bit all over. Obese people (men especially) just store more of their body fat around their abdomen, thus it's simply stubborn because there is more volume of fat there to lose, so it takes time. Hi, Rudy. you're sure? I do the same. I'm about 6%BF, but i'm not sure if i should eat carbs in the evening ~8pm. I do IF so i only eat carbs in the evening after workouts. You'll be fine as long as its post workout. If you're already lean you can get away with all kinds of different carb timing methods...it's the people who are overweight that should pay attention to tricks like this and focus more on a overall calorie deficit..if you're already 6%...you can play around with a lot of different methods and not have to worry about it. Carb depleting for 3-5 days is one way of doing it, but I wouldn't recommend doing this week after week. Your body will definitely adapt and you're going to decrease your metabolism a lot. Additionally the 50 grams is merely an example...there are Deplete Days where I go as low as 20 gram and as high as 100...but using 50 for 3 or 4 days in a row after a food bender or higher carb intake is a great way to deplete FAST in a healthy way and create a few days of rapid fat loss w/o going crazy. :).

Just make sure to stay at 50g of carbs and then don't go "overboard" on the cheat day.For weight loss i think you should eat maximum of 70g of carbs per day, and try to avoid high GI carbs foods, so your insulin levels don't get too high and you can lose fat. you dont need to go that low.. you can lose weight with 3x of that amount and even more. It is dangerous to eat such low amounts of carbs.. yeah sure you might lose weight but it is not healthy at all and can do terrible things to you body. It affects your hormones, etc. in a bad way. Now I'm not saying that you do the opposite and eat a huge amount of carbs.. it all depends on your body type, activity level, etc. But I think that the lowest you should go is 0.5/0.7 - 1 gram pr lbs of bw with a high carb day every now and then. See my comment below and watch the entire vid and my other vids...I talk about this stuff ALL the time. It's a short term carb cycling trick...not a long term approach.
